YOGA FOUNDATION COURSE 2024

An event every month that begins at 10:00 am on day 14 of the month, repeating indefinitely
One Sunday per month from Sunday 14 January – Sunday 9 June 10am – 4.30pm
The teachers are Sophie Carr and Chloe McKay, with a guest session with Amanda Latchmore.
This course is for those of you who want to deepen your practice and study of yoga.
We will explore the following topics:
– History of yoga, different styles, modern traditions and their difficulties.
– Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga, ethics and lifestyle.
– Mindfulness and meditation, embodiment and presence.
– Listening and compassion practices.
– Asana and alignment in more depth.
– Somatic movement.
– Developing a home practice.
The sessions will be in-person only and the group will be kept small. Registration is by application. Each session will comprise of talks, group discussion, practical movement elements, sharing, meditation and relaxation. Sessions will not be recorded, but if you miss a session we can give you our notes and you will receive the handouts. Sessions cannot be booked separately – you must register for the entire course.
There will be some course reading which you’ll need to do before each session. We also hope you will do some home practice between each session. We intend to share all the reading with you digitally so you won’t need to buy books – but we will recommend books if you choose to read more.
The cost for the course is £495.
