Individual coaching and support

We have a team of teachers who can help you with individualised coaching, support and therapy in a variety of yoga styles. You might want help with a particular challenging posture (chaturanga anyone?), or with a group of postures such as backbends or inversions. Or perhaps you’d like to explore how you can use yoga to work with conditions such as anxiety, arthritis or through the menopause. We offer pregnancy, birth and post-natal support, breathwork for birth, and mindfulness. We can also do tailor-made healing sessions with sound bath and reiki.

All sessions are currently available via Zoom.

Dora Rubinstein

In one-to-one coaching, there is more time to hone in on the details of asana and how they fit with your body. Perhaps you’d like to de-mystify or build up strength in: 

  • Arm balances such as bakasana (crow)
  • Inversions such as headstand and handstand
  • A deeper backbend practice, working towards and beyond urdva dhanurasana (wheel). 
  • Exploring the alignment of sun salutations and the strange beast that is chaturanga! 

Although the poses are only a fraction of what makes yoga yoga, keeping the body healthy, strong, flexible and most importantly injury-free can have immeasurable benefits for your wellbeing. In one-to-one coaching we’ll explore active drills and alignment cues tailored to you, helping you to get more out of your asana practice every time you come to the mat.

Yoga Therapy

Blending yoga postures, breathwork and meditation with neuroscience and psychotherapeutic principles, yoga therapy is gaining recognition as an increasingly popular approach to health care. Yoga therapy can be used to support a wide range of mental and physical health conditions: anxiety, depression, cancer, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, insomnia, structural misalignment, injury, recovery from bone breakages, scoliosis, Parkinson’s, eating disorders, menopause, endometriosis and many other conditions.

Gillian has worked as a qualified yoga therapist for 8 years, and as a yoga teacher for over 20 years. She has special interests in trauma, stress, anxiety, depression and women’s health (pregnancy, birth, menopause, endometriosis, etc). Gillian is deeply interested in understanding psychological issues and the impact they may have on the individual.

Chloe has been teaching and practicing yoga for many years and has always been drawn to its therapeutic approach. Mindfulness is a superpower. It’s a proven way to develop inner calm and feel more connected. With simple techniques, we can learn how being ‘aware’ reduces reactivity, soothes stress and makes us feel more kind and compassionate. Even one session will give you techniques to last a lifetime.

Breathwork. Most of us have breath-holding patterns which limit our vitality and keep us unconsciously tense. With simple exercises, we can relax the structures of the breath, learn how to take deep diaphragmatic breaths, and feel immediately vibrant and alive.

Birth preparation. Whether you want a hospital or home birth: explore all your options and choices for a positive birth, find out how to get the best from the NHS, how to use breathing as real pain relief, and how your birth partner can best support you.

Alison Goodwin

Post-Natal Core & Pelvic Floor – tone and strengthen after birth.  Everything might not seem to be quite where you left it a few months ago but worry not.  You don’t have to resign yourself to a lifetime of leaky sneezes and finding it hard to sit up in bed!  My kind, gentle and effective approach will increase strength, tone and confidence from the first session.

Birth Debrief – Of course you are happy your baby is here, safe and well.  But maybe it didn’t go to plan, and may have left you with difficult feelings and a sense of “unfinished business”.  Alison’s birth debriefing takes place over two sessions.  At the first one we talk it through. Having your feelings acknowledged and validated can bring about deep healing – it’s ok not to be ok.  In the second session I take you through a relaxation and visualisation practice to help you move forward.  One past client called it “a birth debrief for the soul”!

Menstruality – Your menstrual cycle can be a source of power rather than just a bloody nuisance.  Learning to work with cycle rhythm can help you know when to take action, when to step back and when to rest.  It helps you identify your most creative times and understand why sometimes things don’t seem to be flowing. If you’re not in a menstrual cycle for any reason, cycle wisdom can still be a powerful tool to help you contextualise your ebb and flow of mood and creativity, tapping into the rhythms of day and night, the seasons of the year and lunar cycles.

Emma Leaf

Emma’s unique healing sessions will fully recharge your whole being. She’s a passionate Reiki master and has been practicing Reiki healing for 22yrs. You will totally relax, breathing deeply, immersed in sound vibrations and guided through your own personal Yoga Nidra meditation. Emma will play a full set of Crystal singing bowls and send distance reiki.
