SUMMARY:Autumn Equinox with Chloe McKay
DESCRIPTION:\n \n As summer comes to a close and the days shorten and the temperature drops\, Autumn creeps in. The late September Autumn Equinox marks the turning of the seasons and a move towards a slower pace. It’s a time for gathering in: finishing projects and harvesting thoughts\, ideas and plans. The energy of Autumn reflects a shift towards introspection where we can contemplate our life and feel more grounded in the body. This class will offer you the space to do just that with a mindful slow flowing yang practice to anchor the attention inwards and draw the energy down. Soothing and relaxing yin yoga will round off the evening accompanied by breath work and inquiry – a chance to turn yet deeper inwards and reflect. \n£22 in studio/ £18 online \n\n \n	\n

SUMMARY:Franklin Method® in York: The Embodied Vagus Nerve: Your Window to Wellbeing and Deep Rest
DESCRIPTION:\n \n Join me at Stables Yoga in York for an immersive morning dedicated to diving into your body\, understanding the mind-body connection\, and learning how to influence your nervous system for profound states of ease\, calm\, and deep rest.\n\nIt’s the perfect practice for a Sunday morning – especially as the busy festive season approaches.\n\nThis November\, this Franklin Method® work makes its full in-person live debut in York! As a licensed Level 4 Educator\, I’m thrilled and excited to share this practice with you. I hope you love it as much as I do.\n\nDiscovering your Vagus Nerve: Our Somatic Body\n\nThe vagus nerve – often called the wandering nerve – is a vast structural network extending from the brainstem down through the neck\, chest\, and abdomen\, connecting directly to our organs and senses.\n80% Sensory: Approximately 80% of the vagus nerve is sensory. It acts as a primary communication pathway\, constantly sending feedback from our internal organs back to the brain about our internal state.\n\nVagal Tone & Health\nA healthy vagal tone is critical for overall health\, stress recovery\, and helping our organs down-regulate after high-demand events. We have the capacity to actively influence this structural system through movement\, touch\, breath\, and sound.\n\nAppreciating the Influence of the Vagus Nerve\nAs our primary nerve of wellbeing\, we can see directly from the anatomical diagram how its branches literally wander through the body – stretching from the brainstem down through the neck\, chest\, and deep into the viscera. This vast structural network connects our mind directly to our internal organs\, and when well toned acts as the ultimate biological highway for rest\, digestion\, and recovery.\n\nOur morning together\nDuring this morning session\, we will peel back layers of physical and mental tension using the power of Somatic Movement\, Franklin Method® processes\, and polyvagal-informed therapeutic practice from the wellbeing toolkit of SomaSoul® Somatic Therapy:\n\nApplied Neuro-Anatomy: Explore how the mind-body connection operates and structural tension can melt away allowing you and your body to relax and take a deeper breath.\nTargeted Vagal Stimulation: Use movement\, precise self-touch\, breath patterns\, and vocal sound resonance to directly influence vagal tone and produce measurable states of physiological calm.\nDeep Rest with Franklin Method® Balls: We will close the morning with a dedicated session using Franklin Method® balls to induce deep neuromuscular release\, quiet the nervous system\, and leave you feeling restored.\n\nWho This Immersive Is For\n\nMy workshops are taught in an intelligent\, welcoming\, and accessible environment and as a SomaSoul Somatic Therapist my practice and work is always trauma informed:\nCurious Individuals: Anyone looking for practical\, evidence-based tools to improve health\, manage emotional wellbeing\, and relieve chronic tension.\nWomen in Midlife & Beyond: Women navigating changing hormones\, stress\, or shifting energy who want grounded\, non-depleting practices to support their nervous system and long-term resilience.\nMovement Professionals & Therapists: Pilates teachers\, yoga instructors\, somatic practitioners or even therapists who who want to learn how Franklin Method®\, somatics and polyvagal theory apply to movement from a Master-level educator\n\nNo prior somatic experience is required. Practices are gentle\, adaptable\, and accessible to all bodies.  \nPlease note that this immersive is working in the domain of Somatic Movement Education and is designed as a journey of self-discovery\, nervous system education\, and personal wellbeing. To keep the space safe\, grounded\, and contained for all participants\, our focus throughout the morning remains strictly on gentle wellbeing and health optimisation.\n\n\n\nAbout Sarah\n\nSarah is an Expert Level 4 Franklin Method® Educator\, ISMETA Registered Master Somatic Movement Therapist and Master Somatic Movement Educator\, Comprehensive & Remedial Pilates Teacher\, and Mind-Body Specialist. Franklin Method has been a way of life for me now for over a decade and I work with it every day with my own clients.  I’ve come a long way with it from being a curious human to becoming an expert in it\, a regulated Master in the profession of Somatic Movement and Somatic Therapy\, I also teach in Eric Franklin’s own Virtual Studio as a guest teacher and have taught sessions there on the Enteric Nervous System\, Heart Centered Presence and Spiral and Suspend: Franklin Method for Dancers.  I work with Franklin Method in my role as a Comprehensive Pilates teacher and I’ve taught it across the world as a guest teacher for dancers. SUMMARY:Mandala Through The Seasons with Zoe Speekenbrink
DESCRIPTION:\n \n In this extended Mandala Vinyasa practice we will work with the element related to the season we are in. Starting with a pranayama (breath work) practice\, moving into dynamic mandala vinyasa and gradually slowing down with restorative yoga\, giving the body time to soften and integrate the work before settling into deep rest in savasana. \nMandala Vinayasa yoga takes us 360 degrees around the mat\, you’ll repeat a circular sequence for three cycles\, creating a steady\, rhythmic flow that helps calm the mind and settle the nervous system whilst also offering physical challenge. The practice becomes deeply meditative as you become familiar with the movements and the circular flow. \nFor each elemental focus\, the practice will target specific areas of the body connected to that element\, while also exploring its physical and emotional qualities. \nMandala Vinyasa offers a balanced blend of warming\, fluid movement and quiet stillness. This extended practice\, connected to the season\, is designed to leave you feeling grounded\, balanced and light. \n(These classes are in-studio only. Not suitable for complete beginners) \n\n \n	\n

SUMMARY:Winter Solstice with Chloe McKay
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \nThe winter solstice or midwinter marks the shortest period of daylight and longest night when the sun is at its lowest elevation in the sky. For centuries it has been seen across cultures as a time for ritual and festivals. Symbolically\, the winter solstice represents regeneration and renewal as it signifies the rebirth of the sun and a gradual shift to longer days and more daylight. It is also a time for self-reflection. \nIn this class\, we’ll create space to turn inwards and explore gentle practices that slowly galvanize and harness our energy. As usual\, the session will be divided into two parts beginning with a dynamic slow flow before melting into deeply nourishing restorative yoga to soothe and calm the body and mind. \n£22 in studio/ £18 online \n\n  \n\n \n	\n
